ONE ROOM. YEAR-ROUND COMFORT.
Too hot to sleep, work or relax?
A single-split Daikin system can provide targeted cooling and heating to the room that needs it most — without conditioning the whole house.
Comfort Solutions for Every Room
Bedroom
Quiet operation, sensible airflow position, night-time comfort and discreet installation.
Loft conversion
High solar gain and roof-level heat make proper load calculation particularly important.
Home office
Targeted cooling/heating for a room used heavily during working hours.
Kitchen extension
Large glazing, cooking loads and strong solar gain can make extensions challenging in summer.
Garden room
Independent comfort where connection to the main heating system may be impractical.
How a single split works
One indoor unit connects to one dedicated outdoor unit. This is often the simplest route where only one room needs conditioning, with straightforward independent control and no need to size a larger multi-room outdoor system.

Why proper sizing matters
Do not sell by room area alone. Assess dimensions, glazing, orientation, insulation, roof/loft construction, occupancy, internal gains and intended set points before choosing capacity.
Heating benefit
A modern single-split AC system is also an air-to-air heat pump. This gives the customer fast, controllable room heating as well as summer cooling — particularly useful in bedrooms, lofts, offices and extensions.
Installation Choices for Comfort & Performance
Indoor position
Prioritise airflow distribution, appearance, service access and avoidance of uncomfortable direct draughts.
Outdoor position
Ground, wall, roof or extension roof where technically/planning appropriate, with proper airflow and service access.
Condensate
Gravity drain wherever practical; pump where route constraints make it necessary.
Electrical supply
Dedicated supply/protection designed and certified by SOL's electrical team.
Finish
Neat containment, sealed penetrations and a route agreed with the customer before work starts.
Installation process — from enquiry to commissioning
01
Enquiry
Rooms, property type, postcode, intended use, plans/photos, single vs multiple rooms and whether solar/battery/EV works are planned.
02
Site survey
Measure rooms and glazing; assess orientation, solar gain, insulation, occupancy, indoor/outdoor unit positions, pipe/drain routes, electrical supply and access/scaffold requirements.
03
Heat gain / load design
Calculate room-by-room cooling and heating requirements before equipment selection. Do not size from floor area alone.
04
System design & proposal
Confirm capacities, Daikin indoor/outdoor equipment, pipe lengths, condensate strategy, controls, electrical works, access and itemised scope.
05
Access / scaffolding
Arrange suitable access for roof/high-level outdoor equipment and external pipe routes where required.
06
First fix
Install insulated refrigeration pipework, condensate drainage, interconnections, containment, penetrations and dedicated electrical supplies. Coordinate before plastering/decorating where possible.
07
Second fix
Mount indoor/outdoor units, make refrigeration/drain/electrical connections, install isolators/controls and complete containment.
08
Refrigeration commissioning
Pressure/tightness testing, evacuation, refrigerant commissioning/additional charge where required, condensate testing and heating/cooling operational checks.
09
Electrical commissioning
In-house electricians test dedicated circuits, protection, isolation and earthing and issue applicable electrical certification.
10
Handover
Set up controls/app, explain modes/timers/filter care, provide documents and discuss servicing/warranty requirements.
Got Solar?
Daytime solar generation can contribute to daytime AC consumption. Link to Solar + Air Conditioning London and offer customers planning solar an integrated design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Price depends on more than the indoor unit itself. We consider the required capacity, chosen Daikin range, outdoor-unit position, refrigeration pipe length, condensate route, electrical supply, wall construction, containment and access/scaffolding. A bedroom with a short rear-wall route will price differently from a loft with a roof-mounted condenser. We therefore confirm the installation route before issuing the final fixed proposal rather than advertising a misleading one-price-fits-all figure.
