Mcs certified battery storage installers - London
Store electricity when it costs less. Use it when it matters.
Switched On London designs and installs intelligent home battery storage systems across London - with or without solar panels.
Store surplus solar generation or charge from the grid during lower-cost tariff periods, then use that stored energy when your home needs it.

CONTROL WHEN YOU BUY ELECTRICITY
Your electricity does not have to be used at the moment you buy or generate it.
A home battery lets you shift electricity through time. If you have solar panels, surplus daytime generation can be stored for later. If you use a time-of-use tariff, the battery can also charge when grid electricity is cheaper and discharge when prices are higher.
The value of a battery depends on how well its capacity, power and control strategy match your actual home. That is why we size from consumption and usage patterns rather than simply recommending the biggest unit.
Battery Storage
Three ways to use battery storage
Solar + battery
Generate electricity on the roof, use what the home needs, store surplus generation and use it later instead of automatically importing from the grid.
Battery-only
A home does not need solar panels to use battery storage. A suitable system can charge from the grid during lower-cost tariff periods and supply stored energy later.
Retrofit to existing solar
Already have PV? We can assess the existing inverter, metering, DNO position and electrical installation to determine the best way to add storage without compromising the existing system.
RIGHT-SIZED STORAGE
More kWh is not automatically better.
Battery capacity should be based on what you are trying to achieve. Oversizing can leave expensive capacity unused; undersizing can mean the battery is empty before the expensive part of the day is over.
We look at annual and daily consumption, peak demand, existing or proposed solar generation, tariff windows, EV charging, heat pumps or air conditioning, desired backup loads and likely future electrification.
BRANDS WE LOVE
Premium systems selected around the job - not a single-brand sales pitch.
We work with high-quality home energy platforms and choose equipment around the property, the electrical design and what the customer wants the system to do.
Two of the systems we particularly like are Sigenergy and Duracell Energy.
Sigenergy SigenStor
A premium modular home energy platform combining battery storage, solar inverter / energy control and smart energy management, with gateway and EV options for compatible designs.

Duracell Energy
A strong option for home battery storage, including customers interested in battery-only tariff shifting or future solar integration.
NO SOLAR? NO PROBLEM.
Battery storage can work without panels.
For some London homes, the roof may be shaded, restricted, shared or simply unsuitable for a worthwhile solar array. A standalone battery can still allow the household to take advantage of time-of-use electricity tariffs by charging during cheaper periods and using stored electricity later.
This can also be a sensible first stage for a home that may add solar, an EV or other electric technologies later.

ALREADY HAVE SOLAR?
Use more of the electricity your panels already generate.
Older PV systems often export surplus generation during the day while the household buys electricity back from the grid later.
We assess the existing PV inverter, generation metering, export arrangements, available space and electrical infrastructure before recommending the appropriate AC- or DC-coupled storage route. Where an older Feed-in Tariff arrangement is involved, the design needs particular care around metering and changes to the original system.
OPTIONAL HOME BACKUP
A battery is not automatically a backup system.
Most standard grid-connected solar and battery systems must disconnect appropriately when the grid fails. If power-cut resilience is important, the system must be designed with compatible backup equipment and a defined backup arrangement.
We assess which circuits or loads need to remain available, expected power demand, battery capacity, equipment capability and the property supply before specifying backup.

ENGINEERED, NOT JUST INSTALLED
The battery is only one part of the electrical system.
Battery performance and safety depend on the design around it: protective devices, cable sizing and routes, earthing, isolation, inverter / gateway architecture, location, commissioning and grid connection requirements.
As an established electrical contractor, Switched On London treats battery storage as an electrical engineering project from the first survey through to handover.
MCS battery storage scope
Our battery work is delivered within the applicable MCS electrical energy storage system requirements and company certification scope.
NICEIC electrical expertise
Consumer units, earthing, protection and associated electrical upgrades can be assessed and completed as part of the project.
DNO applications
Where the inverter / generation arrangement requires G98 or G99 notification or approval, we establish and manage the appropriate route.
One contractor
Solar, battery, EV charging and associated electrical upgrades can be coordinated within one project.
London properties
We are used to tight plant spaces, awkward routes, multiple roof areas and the practical constraints of London homes.

Install, test, commission, configure monitoring and provide the applicable electrical and MCS handover documentation.
RECENT PROJECT · SOUTH WEST LONDON
Solar, storage and whole-home energy control in one installation.
This London project combined a complex multi-roof solar array with a Sigenergy SigenStor battery system and Energy Gateway. The installation was designed around the property rather than forcing the property around the equipment.
Use this project to demonstrate the difference between buying a battery and commissioning a complete home-energy system.

Solar Array
designed around usable roof areas.

Battery capacity
designed around usable roof areas.

Inverter / controller
designed around usable roof areas.

Backup gateway
integration between grid, home, solar and storage.

DNO route
integration between grid, home, solar and storage.
